Q2 2026 –Growing demand for redeployment drives new clients & partnerships for PlanBit

During the second quarter of 2026, PlanBit welcomed new clients and partnerships, with a clear trend emerging: organizations are increasingly looking for effective ways to redeploy their existing IT equipment.

Rather than automatically replacing devices with new equipment, more organizations are recognizing the value of extending the useful life of their IT assets. The reasons are compelling — reducing environmental impact while achieving significant cost savings.

From remarketing to redeployment

Traditionally, IT equipment that is no longer required by its current user is often remarketed and given a second life outside the organization. Today, PlanBit is seeing a growing interest in another option: redeploying suitable assets within the organization itself.

By extending the lifecycle of existing equipment, organizations can reduce the environmental impact associated with the production and procurement of new devices while making better use of assets they already own.

There is also a strong financial case. Suitable equipment can be securely prepared, refurbished where required and configured for its next user. PlanBit can configure devices with the client’s own corporate image or provide an OS-only installation, such as Windows 11, making the equipment ready for redeployment.

Extending the lifecycle in practice

For one of our clients, PlanBit was able to redeploy close to 12% of the client’s notebook volume that had reached the end of its OEM support period.

By revitalizing the notebooks and replacing batteries where required, these devices could be given an extended operational life and redeployed as hot-swap inventory within the client’s organization. Rather than purchasing additional new equipment for this purpose, the client was able to maximize the value of its existing IT assets.

This practical combination of sustainability, lifecycle extension and cost efficiency is contributing to the growing demand PlanBit is seeing for professional redeployment services.
